Educational Shelter

From the beginning Casa Xalteva's core goal has been to provide Nicaraguan children with the tools needed to become responsible, productive individuals that can share these positive experiences with the local and global community.  Casa Xalteva assists children achieve their goals with educational, emotional, social, and monetary support.

At the most basic level we provide a safe, positive environment for the children to spend their free time.  In the local communities children rarely have structured, supervised activities such as organized sports, arts and other activities.  We are a loving community and our children come to Casa Xalteva either in the morning or the afternoon, before or after going to school. Teacher Larry guides them and helps them with their homework, research, and other tasks for school.
 
We practice teamwork, non-violence, tolerance, and respect for all.  The children's involvement with international students and volunteers from all around the world gives them an intercultural awareness that helps cultivate a healthy, global view. This helps reinforce subjects taught in school, introduce entirely new experiences, and foster team building.
 
Casa Xalteva's Spanish language students are welcome to participate in our kids programs. Come share your skills, abilities, and energy with us. .
